HELP SUPPORT HONORARY MEMBER ALINA SHAPOVALOVA
Alina Shapovalova, 18, is a young Ukrainian sailor on a mission to represent her war-torn country at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Currently living in Switzerland as a refugee, Alina is campaigning to continue her elite sailing career on the international stage.
I first met Alina while hosting the ILCA Group 6 World Championships. She is an exceptional athlete with an already impressive competitive record. Just as remarkable—if not more so—is her personal story of resilience and determination in overcoming challenges beyond her control.

I would like to thank our Board of Directors for their support in naming Alina an honorary member and serving as a conduit for fundraising efforts. Special thanks to Director Hartigan for stepping up to coordinate Alina’s presentation at our April General Meeting.
